The world leaders and governments of industrialized countries cut down on helping the poor. Most countries in the EU have not put aside the amounts of their GNP that was decided upaon earlier. Only Scandinavian and Benelux countries come close. Countries like Italy are way behind schedule.
The deliberations of the G8 leaders do not seem promesing for people with an empty stomach. Promised support to poor country has been cut in half by host country Italy and most of the other wealthy nations are not able to keep their promises to the poor. The global economic downturn made rich nations less geenrous in sharing a percentage of their GNP.
