It's up to us

The world leaders and governments of industrialized countries cut down on helping the poor. Most countries in the EU have not put aside the amounts of their GNP that was decided upaon earlier. Only Scandinavian and Benelux countries come close. Countries like Italy are way behind schedule.

Governments in rich countries are too busy repairing their crippled economies to be concerned with the developing countries andd especially the poor in those countries that are hit hard by the world economic crises, that was caused by the greed in financial markets. It's is cleaar that the world has woken up to financial mismanagement and this is a good thing. But countries in Africa where banks stayed very careful in giving out loans, now start to feel the effects of the downturn.

We have all been hit. One way or another. This doesn't mean that we cannot do anything. We can get connected with eachother and share the load. We of recipes4food are convinced that when people from Africa, Asia and Latin America share their recipes with people from the West that we can create a meaningful and practical way to help and to exchange our interests. Most people in poor countries now how to make a good meal out of simple ingredients that can help their friends in America and Europe to save some money on food while putting an original dish on the table.
